Mustang lovers, unite! The all new 2018 Ford Mustang will come standard with a burn out feature called “line lock!” It can lock your front brakes so that the rear wheels can burn rubber. Oh my! According to Vaughn Gittin Jr., Ford’s Formula Drift Champion, “burnouts just never get old,” and we couldn’t agree more. Vaughn is seen here, letting people get behind the wheel of a Ford Mustang EcoBoost to engage line-lock and have some fun burning rubber.
The new feature was only recently introduced and will be made accessible through a menu on the Mustang’s instrument cluster. Once it has been switched on, the system builds pressure on the front brakes. This can be held for up to 15 seconds and this is the time when the driver can hit the gas pedal and drive off. This is a feature that the V-8 Mustang GT has, but now ALL Mustangs drivers can enjoy it. This includes owners of the EcoBoost Engine as well.
