Carrying a roadside emergency kit is a good idea. You do not want to be sitting on the side of the road waiting with no help on the way. To build a good emergency kit is pretty easy. Most of these thing you already have. We will give a list; most of the reasons to have them is obvious.
  • Flashlight.
  • Road flares.
  • Cell phone charger.
  • Jumper cables.
  • Portable radio with batteries.
  • Unopened bottled water.
  • Unopened non-perishable snacks and food.
  • First aid kit with bandages, gauze, tape, antibiotics, pain killer such as aspirin.
  • All purpose tool, such as those sold in some hardware stores.
  • Reflectors for the road.
  • A gas can, empty.
  • A small amount of extra cash.
  • A good, fully charged fire extinguisher. This can be a real life saver.
