We certainly can't quibble with an entry-level engine like the one offered with the Edge. Served up standard across all trim types except the top-tier Sport, this turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder churns out a colossal 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is the default configuration, while an all-wheel system is available as an add-on.

We also appreciate the base four-banger for its overall efficiency. When had in front-drive form, for instance, the Edge 2.0T returns 24 mpg combined (20 city/30 highway).
