Ever since it debuted for the 2015 model year, the latest generation of Ford F-150 has made short work of winning even more hearts and minds than ever. In fact, the truck is continuing to grow in popularity, leading some rivals to take direct shots at it. But that's not slowing down the Blue Oval, who just announced class-leading torque figures for the 2017 iteration.

The cause of this is the new 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6, which will replace the 3.5-liter EcoBoost that arrived in 2009. In effect, it will raise the power numbers of the pickup to 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The boon this will have on the payload and towing numbers notwithstanding, it also stands as the most torque of any half-ton truck, and even eclipses some larger trucks as well. Score another class-leading figure for America's favorite half-tonner!

The 2017 F-150 isn't the only new model year vehicle to arrive this autumn. The off-road ready Raptor will also by arriving in the fold, among others.
