There are a lot of reasons we here at David McDavid Ford feel passionately about our favorite American automaker, and it goes much, much deeper than vehicles. Sure, we are always impressed by the Ford brand's steadfast commitment to excellence in engineering and automotive innovation, but we're also proud to be associated with a brand that does so much to give back to the community.

Earlier this week a Ford Transit-350 HD that had been specifically customized with a refrigerator, sink, service window, food prep station, and cabinets set out to join forces with Washington D.C.'s mobile meals program to serve the homeless as part of The Salvation Army's Grate Patrol program.

The program runs every night of the year and delivers an impressive 150 meals, snacks, and hydration options a day to men and women all throughout downtown D.C. “Ford is proud to support The Salvation Army’s mobile meals program as part of our commitment to help build strong communities everywhere our employees live and work,” said Janet Lawson, director, Ford Motor Company Fund, the philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company. “Transit – America’s best-selling commercial van – has the size and flexibility that make it the right vehicle for this program.”
